Who We Are

Tygo Consulting Ltd is a data protection consultancy providing compliance support and advisory services. We act as a data controller in relation to our own clients’ and enquirers’ personal data. When providing consultancy support to clients, we may also act as a data processor on their behalf. We only collect the minimum personal data necessary to provide our services.

What Data We Collect

• Contact details (name, email address, phone number, business address)
• Business information (organisation name, role, sector)
• Financial details (invoices, payment records)

• Any information you provide when contacting us or using our services

We do not intentionally collect special category data unless required to deliver specific consultancy services. Our consultancy contracts include relevant data processing clauses.  

How We Use Your Data & the lawful basis for processing 

• To provide our consultancy services
• To respond to enquiries and manage client relationships
• To send newsletters and updates
• To comply with legal and regulatory obligations
• For internal administration, record-keeping, and accounting

We rely on the legal basis of ‘necessary for the performance of a contract’ to deliver our services, ‘legitimate interests’ to manage our business and improve services, and ‘consent’ for optional communications such as newsletters. We also process personal data to comply with legal obligations (e.g. HMRC requirements). 

Please note that We may process your personal data without your knowledge or consent, in compliance with the above rules, where this is required or permitted by law

Data Sharing

We share your data with:

• Trusted service providers (data processors) that have undergone robust security checks. 
• Regulators or law enforcement (only when required to do so)

We do not sell your data.

International Transfers

If we transfer your data outside the UK/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses are in place. 

Data Retention

We keep client files and financial records for 7 years after engagement ends to meet legal and regulatory requirements. Marketing data is retained for up to 7 years after your last communication from us.

Your Rights
